Wing Point Fly-In Report  (new)

The Second Annual Wing Point Fly-In was a fantastic success.  The event was held last Saturday, June 28th in Shallowater, TX at Biggin Hill Residential Airpark.  The was hosted by Wally & LaTronda Moyers.  Wally is Dwayne Herring's, Chapter VP, cousin.  Steve and I would like to thank everyone for their hospitality and for showcasing their wonderful Airpark.  Click here for the photo album of the event.

John Weiler Passed Away On Sunday June 22nd

It is with a sad heart that I must inform the Chapter that former member and Aircam builder John Weiler has passed away after a battle with brain cancer.  John was always a gracious and kind man who was always eager to provide his time and aircraft to Chapter events.  John allowed me the opportunity to fly with Fred Michna in the Aircam at a fly-in at SkyWest a little over a year ago.  What a ride.  John created a wonderful aircraft and his pride was obvious as he was always open to anyone wanting a closer look.  I would like to extend our condolences to all of John's family and friends on behalf of everyone in EAA Chapter 123.  Blue skies John.  Click here to view the official obituary.

Bill Jessup Turns 92!!! 

Long time Chapter member and noted aviator Bill Jessup celebrates his 92nd birthday, Tuesday, June 17th.   The entire membership would like to wish Bill a Happy Birthday.

Hangar 25 Young Eagles in the Books

We had a wonderful turnout for our Big Spring/Hangar 25 Young Eagles event this past Saturday, May 17th.  We flew 36 Young Eagles.  Thank you to all the young men and women who came out to participate, your the reason we do these events. The turnout was a little less than expected but the kids that flew had a great time as did their pilots. Thank you to Steve Clinton, Nancy Day, Pat Day, Mark Haskin, Don Carruth, Bob Evans and Dwayne Herring for providing their time and aircraft for this event.  Thank you also to Michelle & Justin Haskin, Sarah Young, Davis Baker for their help on the ground.  I would also like to thank the folks at Hangar 25 and the FBO for their help and organization.  This is the smoothest running event we hold and the food was fantastic as well.
